Day 327: A Trip into the Wilderness

Pastor Greg and I drove north of Two Harbors, Minnesota to enjoy the deep forest. Our wet, foggy weather broke last night. Four new inches of snow fell in the Northwoods, and encrusted all the pines and deciduous trees.

Days 325 & 326: Fogbound Photos!

For the past week the weather in northern Minnesota has been gloomy, and for the past two days foggy and wet. At times one could not see much more than 50 yards. This makes for horrible photographic conditions. However, if God gives you lemons, make lemonade!

I hope you enjoy the photos I took during the fog. In adversity one finds success!

Day 325: A visit to the Duluth waterfront!

The crows in this picture are framed against Duluth’s Aerial Bridge. In addition, I hope you enjoy the freighter in the fog photos. Many of them have “birds” in the photos!

Day 324: Sax-Zim Bog Gray Birds

This winter I am working as a volunteer host at the Sax-Zim Bog Visitor Center. The Bog is the premier winter birding location for Boreal birds in the USA. The bog provides the opportunity to see birds which venture south from the frozen regions of northern Canada to Minnesota for their winter vacation in the warm south (i.e. northern Minnesota).

Before spending time at the visitor center, I went out birding myself and enjoyed watching a Great Gray Owl hunt, and a Gray Jay (Canada Jay) enjoy some suet.
