Birding and Biking on Hold

Just a brief update on Tuesday, October 20th. I will have surgery to either repair or replace a defective heart valve tomorrow morning. Otherwise, my heart checked out fine via various other tests yesterday. Thanks for everyone’s best wishes and prayers. My prognosis is good, and I hope to post again this coming weekend. I will photograph and review the varius birdfeeders I use, and why …

Till then.

  11. Here’s to a speedy recovery! I love your blog, I’m from Long Grove IA and daydream of heading to your neck of the woods to bird with you. You see the most awesome birds, your love of the outdoors shows in all your photos and blogging. Wish you the best, Tammy from Long Grove Iowa!

    1. Thanks Tammy! My Dad grew up in Lake View, Iowa which is about one hour west of Fort Dodge. Still have lots of relatives in that town.

For anyone from Iowa who birds, search via Facebook for Don Poggensee who lives in Ida Grove. He is a great gentleman and knows his birds. In the winter he finds Northern Saw-whets with ease.
