Lake Superior Penguin Migration in Full Swing!

2014 has been an epic Winter. Lake Superior is almost 100% covered by ice for the first time in years. These conditions have resulted in penguins migrating into our region. Their movement has been driven by Winter conditions which has helped them expand their range into the Northland.

Day 044: A Shadow of a Reflection!

My morning bird hike rapidly improved this morning. At 6:45 am heavy fog ruled, but by 7:30 am sun was blazing down. This little blue heron provided the perfect photo opportunity. Is it rule of Memorex?

Day 043: Gull Buoys

Nothing exciting today except pouring rain. Quickly ran outside during a break in the rain and thought it was a fun photo op.
