Hoot is Back! 2nd Printing!

For those of you who missed out on the opportunity to purchase my children’s picture book which I wrote and photographed about Hoot (The Story of the Amity Owls), a 2nd printing has now been announced. You may purchase a copy now, and your book(s) will be delivered on or before October 1st. Remember, anyone may download a full free PDF version of my book.

You will also be able to watch videos and read commentary with photographs about the Amity Owls via my online extras … also found via the “Do You Hoot?” web page.

Belted Kingfisher

Fall seems to be arriving in the Northland today. We have HUGE winds and the temperature fell four degrees in the hour “after” the sun rose, which is unusual. I actually was outside long for sunrise (before 5 am) trying to find my owls. My hope was to take some photographs of Hoot against the setting full moon, but I think the howling wind and rain which arrived around 2 am pushed the owls into deep cover.

After the sun rose, I found this cooperative Belted Kingfisher. It’s always fun when a bird is more interested in eating than worrying about your presence. As a fyi, I definitely used my Canon SX70 to take these kingfisher photos.
