Day 261: Black Bear Bird!

For Christmas last year my children gave me the Yankee Flipper. While it survived attacks by hundreds of squirrels it met its demise last night! Winter is coming, and our neighbor obviously enjoys sunflower seeds. The feeders have now been raised in hopes of surviving more attacks by our local black bear.

Day 260: Home Bird!

After 1,400 miles on bike, and 2,800 miles by train and car we are home (Glaciers to the Sea Bike Tour)! This slate colored junco greeted us in my own yard. Juncos in town mean winter is not far away.

Days 258 to 259: Fall Coot Migration

We finsihed our train journey and reached our car in Whitefish, Montana. We are now driving home to northern Minnesota across Montana and North Dakota. The Fall duck migration is in full swing.
