The weather finally moderated enough to allow for a quick bird in between various Christmas celebrations. After all the ugly days of sub zero weather and huge winds, I was hopeful of finding a hungry hawk. This Red-Tailed Hawk obliged … the temperature was a balmy 4F at the time! Merry Christmas.

Vicki, I needed a break! I also just spent 15 minutes hooting in an area where I have found owls before near my daughter’s house. I love all my grandchildren (seven so far), but the activity of these four makes sometimes wonder how I survived being a parent.
