North to Alaska (Birding)

North to Alaska! I am on my way to a small one room cabin in the woods near the end of the road on the Kenai Peninsula. This evening I am overnighting at my daughter’s house in the Twin Cities. I am super excited for many reasons:

  1. Official celebration that I am not about to die (i.e. heart problems)
  2. While I love my wife, this is a journey I take on my own
  3. I am not anxious

Birds are not really important. Life is important. Listen / Watch the North to Alaska Song by Johnny Horton (link for email subscribers). My family has asked me to Strava my hikes with pics provided by my cell phone. I will obey. Here is my Strava profile and walks.

New Flickr URL’s

Please browse to this updated post to view any of the Flickr albums I had created. Apparently the url’s worked for browsing via a desktop PC, but not via Flickr’s own app. I figured out how to fix the problem, and have updated all the links. Sorry.

Flickr Photos: Updated (new url’s)

I have become increasingly dissatisfied with Instagram as a photo sharing platform. The company’s announced policy is to push videos to the exclusion of photographs. Somehow seeing five second videos of precocious young women in love with themselves does nothing for me. Instagram now heavily forces this kind of content into one’s feed. Instagram is owned by Facebook.

While I have not yet deleted my Instagram account, I have reengaged with Flickr … the original photo sharing site. You may now enjoy and view some of my better images via Flickr … no Flickr account, advertisements or precocious women viewing required. Here are my newly created albums (more to come!).

It is also possible to “follow me” on Flickr. Here is the URL to my account. Go to my Flickr photostream or profile , click on the + follow button next to my name in the cover photo at the top.
